Here are my favourite recipes from 2011. All of these recipes turned out amazing and I will definitely be making them again in the New Year. If you have been planning on trying out some of the recipes on my blog these would all be good ones to start with.
Happy New Year to everyone!
1. Perfect Spicy Chai Latte

2. Brown Butter Brownies

3. Challah

4. Kid Friendly Chili

5. Pumpkin Muffins

Biscotti are one of my favourite type of cookies. I love to eat them for breakfast with a chai tea latte. I found the brand Whimsy & Spice at Dean and Deluca. The company was started by a husband and wife team from Brooklyn, NY. I love all of their baked goods but the Cinnamon Chocolate Malt Biscotti are for sure my favourite. What I love about their baking is the fact that they incorporate spices into all of the cookies, brownies, and marshmallows. If you live in NY visit Whimsy & Spice and try some of the amazing treats!
I wanted to share links to all of my favourite food/photography blogs and to display some of their truly amazing images on my site. I can only hope to one day be able to capture food so beautifully.

This past weekend my Mom and I decided to go shopping at Williams – Sonoma. We both love to browse through all of the interesting cooking appliances, ingredients, and cookbooks in the store.
On this visit we decided to purchase an Ebelskiver Filled-Pancake Pan and Ebelskivers Cookbook. Years ago my mom had a Ebelskiver pan; but it was lost in one of our many moves. For those of you who do not know what an Ebelskiver is, it is a puffy Danish pancake that can be filled with cheese, fruit, chocolate, or jam.
Since my blog is called “Sweet & Savory” I thought it would be cute to make both a sweet and savoury pancake. For the savoury side of things we made a “Mozarella and Basil Ebelskiver” and for the sweet we stuck with the classic “Apple Cinnamon Ebelskiver.” I have to be honest that these were a lot of work but also really fun to make; my Mom and I were able to spend most of Sunday afternoon cooking them up.
Both of the pancakes turned out delicious! Now that I know how to make the batter I am looking forward to being more creative with the filling. I personally think Ebelskiver are the perfect snack anytime of the day; I even had the leftover Apple Cinnamon Ebelskivers for breakfast this morning with maple syrup!

Three days ago we added a new addition to our family, Rory. She is a 14 week old Coton de Tulear puppy. Yesterday was the perfect fall day so my boyfriend, David, and I decided to take her outside in the yard to take some pictures. They turned out so cute that I had to share them with everyone. I also wanted to post the recipe for the smoothest pumpkin pie that I have ever tasted. I found the recipe on the website Smitten Kitchen, which is an amazing food blog with wonderful recipes and photography. Unlike the pumpkin pie that I have made in the past, this one is perfectly smooth and has a milder pumpkin flavour because of the addition of candied yams in the filling. If you have been looking for a new pumpkin pie recipe I would highly recommend this one!
